Prior to qualifying as a Solicitor in 2016, Nazim won a number of discrimination and employment matters at the Tribunal as he spent over 20 years working for not for profit charities and a law centre providing advocacy and advice to Claimants in Tribunals before studying law in West London.
Nazim has extensive experience taking on large corporations and companies and has successfully won compensation and enforced the rights of Claimants against large employers.
A number of these include ICTS (UK), British Airways PLC, Carillion PLC, Mitie, Heathrow Airports Ltd and Eurotunnel.
Nazim has a particular interest and has developed a speciality in Discrimination and TUPE matters having taken a number of cases up to the Court of Appeal.
Secured £14,000 compensation for a Claimant in an Unfair Dismissal case. The employee was disciplined for a practice which was well known and had been in place for over a decade. The employer decided the practice was no longer allowed and disciplined the employee for this.
Acted for a client who was on long term sick leave when he was dismissed from work. We successfully argued at the Court of Appeal that in fact, TUPE preserved the clients right to a disability payment and that he had in fact been discriminated against due to his disability.
Acted for a client who claimed unfair dismissal after he did not wish to work due to serious health and safety concerns. Nazir settled the case before it reached tribunal.
Acted for a client who was accused of misconduct but the employer failed to carry out a proper investigation or follow a fair procedure. Nazir took the case to tribunal and the client was successful and awarded compensation for losing his job.
Acted for a group of employees who had not been paid their holiday pay correctly. We challenged the employer and secured settlements of underpaid holiday pay for the employees ranging back a considerable period of time.
